“Luban Award” for Photovoltaic Power Plant
On December 10, China Construction Industry Association announced the list of “Luban award” winners in 2018-2019. Besides the Sunxi River Bridge on Jiangxi Expressway in Chongqing city, China, yet another project built by the company, namely the 233MW Photovoltaic Power Plant in Algeria, has won the prestigious quality award.
The plant is the first and largest grid connected photovoltaic power project in Africa. The design, construction, operation and maintenance are all based on Chinese standards.
The project was officially started on January 23, 2014, and handed over to the owner on November 2, 2017.
The project is located in the hinterland of Sahara desert, with complex geological conditions. It is also faced with various extreme weather such as high temperature and sandstorm, bringing severe challenges to construction and higher requirements for operation of plant.
During construction, the project team strictly adhered to the principle of "technology first, following model work", clarified the process requirements and quality responsibilities, innovated the process methods, and promoted the realization of quality objectives. The comprehensive power generation efficiency of the plant has reached the international leading level.
Since the grid connected operation of the power station, it has generated 1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, meeting the annual electricity demand of about 500,000 households.
Through the successful implementation of the project, the company has formed a set of technical management system and project management system for the construction of overseas photovoltaic power stations. It has also provided valuable experience and support for more enterprises to go abroad and explore international energy markets.
