On July 7, with 350T crawler crane slowly putting the shield trolley into the shield starting well, the "Pioneer 5" shield machine of the company completed its mobilization at the East Maritime Pastoral Station of Shenzhen Metro Line 12 Works, opening the prelude of shield construction.           

The shield machine is the fifth one purchased by the company. It undertakes the excavation of the right-side shield section from the Science and Technology Museum Station to the East Maritime Pastoral Station. The length of the line is 1,478.16 meters and the diameter of the shield machine is 6,950 mm. Shield tunneling is located in the coastal beach. The main strata through the tunnel are silty clay, sandy clay, fully weathered mixed granite and so on.           

The station is an island-type two-storey structure with a platform width of 13 meters, an underground station hall and and an underground platform. The main body of the station is constructed by open-cut and sequential construction method.           

Since start of work, the project team has strengthened construction organization, and continuously improved work quality and progress management. The station has become the first one to start excavation of foundation pit in Shenzhen Metro Phase IV Project, as well as the first one to receive bottom slab pouring and roof pouring in Shenzhen Metro Line 12 Works.
