Recently, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) issued a circular within the scope of central enterprises to praise the company's active participation in rescue and relief work in Kenya .
On November 23, 2019, du to continuous heavy rainfall, serious floods and landslides occurred in many places in West Pokot, Kenya, resulting in more than 100 deaths, many injuries, and a large number of people were displaced. After learning that the road leading to the disaster hit area was blocked by landslides, the East Africa branch of the company immediately responded to the call of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, and dispatched project equipment and personnel to participate in rescue. All the cleaning work on the blocked road was completed within 2 days, a life passage was opened up, and emergency living materials such as flour, rice, corn, edible oil and purified water were sent to the affected people.
The NTV (Kenya national television), Star News and other media reported the company's active participation in emergency rescue and disaster relief and donation during the period. The company's righteous deeds were highly praised by the government and people of Kenya, and its initiative to fulfill its social responsibilities has made a positive contribution to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
In recent years, the company has paid high attention to the publicity and maintenance of corporate brand image, by actively performing its social responsibilities and participating in social public welfare, and keeping close relationship with the local government and people in the project country.
In 2019 alone, the East Africa branch company carried out 65 acts of social responsibilities related to donation, accident rescue, ecological protection, and improvement of people's livelihood. In addition to participating in the rescue and relief effort of West Pokot County, they also participated in extinguishing the forest fire, rescue of accident vehicles and other volunteer works.
