Recently, Mr. Albert Hatungimana, Governor of Kirundo province in Burundi, awarded the company a certificate of development contribution for year 2023, for promoting development of the province over the years.

The province of Kirundo, located in the north-east of Burundi and bordering Rwanda, is mountainous and swampy, with a relatively large population and little arable land, and a complex geological situation, which limits its agricultural development.

Since August 2014, the company has successively built the Nyavyamo Lot A, Kabuyenge and Nyavyamo Lot C marshland hydroagricultural projects in Kirundo province, with a total area of 1077.5 hectares. The Nyaviamo Lot A and Kabuyenge projects have been handed over and the improved land has been delivered to local villagers for cultivation. The completed canals, dams, pumping stations, structures and other infrastructure have greatly improved local agricultural productivity. The stability and increase of agricultural production have solved the food shortage problem in local communities and have been welcomed by the local government and the public.

Next, the project team will coordinate the progress of the work and make every effort to complete the Nyavyamo Lot C project, in order to realise the beautiful vision of good fields and fertile soil in Kirundo province.
